Description
- Work closely with the DSP hardware design teams to recommend compiler friendly architectural improvements
- Benchmark and analyze hardware architectural improvement ideas using prototype compilers and provide feedback to design teams
- Recommend and implement new intrinsics for the StarCore compiler
- Perform competitive analysis on DSP architectures and make specific improvement recommendations to the design teams
- Implement necessary compiler improvements into the codebase
- Work as an integral part of the Developer Technology compiler team to develop and deliver new DSP compiler capabilities that span both the front-end and back-end of the compiler
- Analyze internal and external customer applications and identify optimization blockers and recommend solutions
- Participate in the entire development lifecycle of the compiler including specification, architecture, design, implementation, unit test and verification
- Reproduce and resolve issues reported by internal and external application developers
- Create benchmarks and other tools used to measure compiler performance and efficiency
Qualifications Qualifications:
- Familiar with modern software development techniques
- Exceptional programming skills are required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be organized and detail-oriented
- Must be able to complete assignments on time and with excellent quality
- Must be able to work in a team oriented environment

Education: MSCS, or equivalent

Experience: 5+ years in a productive development environment

Description Position for a senior software developer/architect who has extensive experience with compiler, linker, debugger, and run-time tools. Looking for experience porting gnu toolchain to new targets architectures, providing feedback to silicon designers, and interacting with the community to get changes adopted into the main distributions.
Qualifications Qualifications:
Required:
* MS Computer Science or BS with 5 years experience working with gnu toolchain .
* Experience contributing back to open source repositories.
* Experience with gcc, glibc, binutils internal structure.
* Experience with embedded systems and software development and testing tools.

Desired:
* Experience with PowerPC targets.
* Experience with compiler optimization algorithms and tuning
* Excellent debugging skills
* Proficiency in PowerPC assembly, C, C++, and JAVA
